DEATH of First Class Students in NYSC camp: Nigerians React to the disheartened incidence

Shocking!!! Read what Nigerians tweets on the social network about the sudden demise of the First class students at their respective NYSC orientation camp that will spines your head.

Ukeme Asuquo, A first class graduate of Petroleum Engineering from the University of Uyo,

died at the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) camp in Zamfara state.

Ifedolapo Oladepo, A first-class graduate of Ladoke Akintola University who died at NYSC camp Kano State.

I cried for this guy for l knew and have experienced of what it takes to come out of higher institution with a grade like this. Though l don't know him but l considered this as a very sad news for we youth of Nigeria. I think it is high time that the general public rise to this issue or this stressful exercise will continue to hurt some families. The actual target is those that have economic gain from the exercise that would do everything to ensure the program continues. May God protect his bereaved family.

It's time the government scrap this exercise, because it's nothing than adding additional stress to the already over stressed Nigerian graduating students.

If however the government cannot scrap this programme, then let copers serve within their states of origin or better still witthin their geopolitical zones. Let's stop wasting the lives of of future leaders all in name nysc.

The heartbroken mother of Kano corper ,Ifedolapo Oladepo who died at NYSC camp has recounted her final moments She wrote You called me five hour to your death and told me to start coming as the NYSC doctors are not doing any tin for you they thought you were pretending u did not want to go for parade so they did not attend to u, when u started calling people from home they eventually gave u an injection immediately after the injection u called ma again that you notice a lot of rashes on your body that i should speak with the doctor who refuse to talk to me u called five minutes later and told me your tongue is twisting they sent all your friends out after seeing all the reaction on your body after giving u the unknown injection, u z we should ask for flight and i called immediately they told me Abuja flight is Mon, wed &Fri. I told u to tell anybody in the clinic dat am a nurse they should allow me to speak to them a male nurse took phone from u and told me u are having anaphylactic reaction and they will watch you for just one our and transfer u to aminu kano teaching hospital but alas they did not transfer you until 5hours later when they notice u are restless and calling people at home, boarded a bus going to Kano with your sister oladepo Kemisola Oladepo to come pick you from there, I begged them to take you to a teaching hospital around but they took you to General hospital gwazo where they have nothing or little care to render they took ur phone from you claiming u are not resting, from that 5'pm I could not talk to you, I took a 16 hours journey to make sure I get to you, but I was called Around 3am that you gave up, without any doctor in the hospital to assist you the only nurse on duty told me she tried her best, her best of staying beside you wen death was taking you away because there was nothing to use from that 3am till I got to Kano I was hoping it will only be a mix up somewhere it can't be you, got to Kano and met you at aminu kano mortuary,alas it was you being put in that cold place. Amokkkkkeeeeeeeeee Mi you couldn't withstand the agony, NYSC successful cut your destiny due to negligence. REST ON OUR QUEEN, if you are opportune to come back to the world please coma as my daughter. ADIEU

NYSC Management should NOT post graduates to where they don’t like. Create a situation in which graduates will list THREE STATES of their choice. Please help d country to preserve d life of our graduates. Thanks in advance for listening to dis advice.

NYSC is a waste of one year. The scheme has caused the death of many promising young graduates especially during elections. It should be scrapped or reviewed so that graduates should either serve in their states or their regions. Corps members starve, trek and suffer for one year and some end up dying. Are we a coursed nation? Why must we always stick to old and unproductive policies. The whole money that these young chaps should earn in one year should be given to them after three months of paramilitary training and skill acquisition training in their regions or states.

This is very sad and painful, the explanation by the NYSC coordinator is those not rule out negligence. I strongly recommend that NASS should probe this death issue; they should not allow any cover up. The premium we place on human life in this country is too low especially by government officials.

This man must be lying, an account has it that the girl suffered a severe drug ration that even caused her tongue to twist. She also called her relation to complain about her condition when the camp officials promised to take her to a teaching hospital. They waited for five hours instead of the one hour they told her relation, they equally took her to general hospital instead. With all these reports, one cannot rule out act of negligence on the part of NYSC. Must this scheme be a death sentence for the youth? They should reform it or scrap it.

What the State Coordinator and Baba Abdullahi was saying is nonsense and stupid. They are animals how could you say the truth of the matter is that the record was there? I served in the North and I know the motives of aal the so call stupid coordinator behaves when it comes to complaint of corpers? How many Northerners died here in the south? You just waste Peoples life for nothing. You will never eat the fruit of your neighbour. The posterity and the blood of the innocent will remain hunting you and your descendants. Why is this stupid leaders called government still maintain this archaic programmes? They are bunch of old fools. Both the State coordinators and Baba Abdullahi will not know peace till the end of their lives. They bury their children while they are living. Amen

The doctors in the nysc camp are doctors who just finished their housemanship..in most cases there is no senior doctor to supervise them...and trust me some of the nysc cases would be the very first time a doctor in the camp ll be making decisions solely with out a superior. Am not sure this is right...am sure somewhere in the budget money has been designated for medical officers to run the clinics but the corrupt nysc staff will chop the cash.

Maybe it's time for those that are still thinking that the scheme is for the unity of the country to think straight towards scrapping it now because it's now an avenue for some people to enrich themselves.
