It Was a Gathering of Who is Who in Akwa Ibom State as the Daughter of the State Chief Judge Tied the Nuptial Knot

THE STRATEGY NOT SENTIMENT - GOV EMMANUEL
It was a celebration of
love at Shelter Afrique playground in Akwa Ibom State as top government
functionaries, legal luminaries, political class, business gurus, women and
youth groups converged to witness the Traditional marriage between Miss Nsidibe
Stephen Okon, daughter of the state Chief Judge and Barister Ekere Edet Bassey.
Among the dignitaries
at the event was the Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr Udom Emmanuel, Deputy Governor
Mr Mosses Ekpo, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Barister Onofiok Luke,
Secretary to the State Government Sir Etekamba Umoren and the Head of Civil
service, Mrs Ekerebong Akpan.
Speaking on the
occasion, the Governor harped on Love as an important ingredient in the union
saying, "When it comes to the Marriage Institution, Love is the strategy
not a sentiment", adding that "the four components of Love which are
Law, Object, Virtue and Effect, make it a necessary strategy" and
congratulated the couple Nsidibe and Ekere for finding each other worthy to tie
the nuptial knot and accord respects to their parents.
Governor Emmanuel said
that he enjoys his working relationship with the father of the bride, Justice
Okon and described him as "a man of God with exceptional love for the
State and maximum understanding of the sign of times", maintaining that it
was such attributes that drew personalities from the three arms of government
to grace the occasion.
He charged the couple
to be guided by the inspiration of love that brought them together into the
sacred institution by holding on to their vows and congratulated the state
Chief Judge, Justice Stephen Okon and the groom’s parent for nurturing their
children to adulthood and prayed God to sustain the union and make it fruitful.
Highpoint of the
ceremony was the exchange of drinks between the two families in accordance with
the marriage rites as the colorful event witnessed cultural display as well as
music rendition from the Real Brass Band which added Pep in thrilling the
guests.
