SENATE finally extend JAMB validity to three years
The upper chamber of the Nigerian National Assembly today
passed the amendment to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Act into
law.
In the amendment, the Senate reinforced the Board to allow
the results of students in the annual examination be valid for more than one
year.
This implies that JAMB result is expected to now be valid for
more than a year.
According to the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tertiary
Education and TETFund, Senator Jibrin Barau the amendments will further
strengthen the Admissions Board in its responsibilities.
Senate President Bukola Saraki in His remark appreciated his
distinguished colleagues for their work towards the passage of the bill
commended that the new amendments will indeed bring financial relief to
students as well as parents and reduces bottlenecks and corruption in the
admission process.
